MAJOR ROAD CLOSURE

The Welford Road between Chapel Brampton and Spratton is expected to be closed for most of this month while repairs are made to a stone bridge that collapsed last year. If the A5199 works take longer – or a shorter time – than anticipated, the BVM Facebook page will be updated with the latest.

HOLLY LODGE DEVELOPMENT ON THE CARDS AGAIN?

Gladman Developments, which failed to gain planning permission for 110 dwellings on land off Holly Lodge Drive last year, has put in a new planning application. It is on the same site but is for 75 dwellings, including 35 per cent affordable housing, with no shop included. Any comments regarding this should be sent to Steve Ellis at Daventry District Council sellis@daventrydc.gov.uk as a matter of urgency. The Parish Council has objected. A copy of its letter, which residents may find of use, can be found on the village website and BVM Facebook page.
