VILLAGE SCHOOL EXPANSION PLANS GIVEN GREEN LIGHT

Daventry District Council have approved plans for additional classrooms and staff car parking at Boughton school on the condition that before development commences a school travel plan will be submitted and approved. Concerns were raised by some local residents at a well-attended Parish Council meeting last month about the problems of school traffic. These were taken on board by the Parish Council who have asked the school to do everything possible to mitigate congestion at peak hours.

JESS DOES IT AGAIN!

Moulton Lane showjumper Jess Dimmock has qualified her young horse Tinkas Tyson for Olympia in the prestigious under-23 British Championship on 20th December. This is the same class that she won last year on Capello, the horse who thrust her into the limelight and a place on the GB team.

BOUGHTON ROAD CLOSURES POSTPONED

The planned repairs to a foul sewer on Humfrey Lane that were scheduled for early this month have been delayed until the New Year. When work does commence it will mean the closure of Humfrey Lane with traffic diverted along Vyse Road and Church Street causing serious disruption.

on 882527.

All funds will be split between Riding For The Disabled, Thomas’s Fund and the Church.

The committee is still looking for new members or people who are able to lend a hand occasionally.

BONFIRE ANOTHER ROARING SUCCESS

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and attended the Pocket Park bonfire night. Despite the wet conditions, the big crowd were wowed once again by the spectacular display. It would be impossible to hold such an event without support from all the volunteers and local companies who give up their time. The Pocket Park committee was saddened that hawkers set up stalls outside the Park trading on the event’s charitable status. Apologies if you bought an overpriced glowstick believing it was for a good cause.

The Pytchley Hunt will be meeting in Boughton Park once again on January 19th. The hounds will be in the Park from about 11.30am. Everyone is warmly invited to come along and see the spectacle.
