Hello Jane, all Parish Councillors, Villagers and Parishioners,

I just thought you might like to know the latest developments concerning the line extension.
The waterproofing works on Bridge 11, which involved complete excavation of all the old infill down to the brickwork, concreting of a new bridge deck (upon which was cold painting of bitumen) has been completed and new ballast re-laid on top. Track laying is nearly complete, and a new safety fence will shortly be installed. Smaller chippings have been applied to the foot path and cycle way side, and this has now been re-opened for public use. The temporary bridge will shortly be removed, as those materials will be re-used elsewhere.

The passenger platform running alongside Brampton View Care Home will once again become our main focus, with blue bricks facing on to concrete blocks. Edging slabs will soon be purchased, and the platform will then look like a traditional railway platform. The new Boughton Station will then be adorned with its own station name board (in L&NWR style), kindly constructed by the students and staff at Northampton College. (More on this later).

With this area being extremely vulnerable to trespass and vandalism etc, we would like to request help from members of the public, who should they see anything suspicious or untoward on or around Railway property, to immediately inform Northamptonshire Police on 999.

Thanking you for your support,
Colin Haddon, Chairman
Northampton & Lamport Railway CIO
